The glam Baroque & Roll trend is here to stay for 2011…

Brocade fabrics were a key theme in the Balmain Runway Show.

Brocade has managed to sneak its way in from Winter 2010 to 2011. This statement fabric adds some serious edge to any outfit and gilded brocade ensures luxe dressing at all times, bringing a rock ‘n’ roll edge to any wardrobe. Brocade and Jacquard mini-dresses were seen at the Balmain 2011 runway show and looked effortlessly stylish sexy with its super-high hemlines and power shoulders.

Brocade Metallics were spotted at the Balmain fashion show.

Balmain included gold neophrene trousers within the collection for a glam 80s feel and Rochas teamed metallic gold brocade trousers with lurex jumpers for a 70s style look. Roberto Cavalli also embraced the Baroque & Roll trend and went for an element of glamour, dressing the models in fierce brocade winter coats decorated with fur trimming and dashes of leopard print.

This trend can be worn by almost anyone, in dresses to coats and foil trousers. Team a pair of gold foil leggings with a black racer vest for a casual but statement look, or simply try a brocade or embellished dress which are all bang-on- trend this season.
