Because she’s worth it…
When it comes to glamour, Cheryl Cole always seems to get it right in the beauty department.
With her long, glam eyelashes, toothy dimpled smile and enviable cheekbones, Cheryl’s flawless beauty is probably one of the most sought after looks that girls all over the world want to copy nowadays.
Miss Cole (or perhaps now Tweedy) always matches her makeup looks to what outfit she is wearing in order to look as perfectly groomed and glam as possible. Her lip colour changes from time to time but she always sports her signature bronzed sculpted cheekbones and heavily lined eyes for a pretty, doll-like look.
It has been rumoured that Chezza spends thousand’s of pounds on hair and makeup before a big event and the outcome is most certainly worth it!
Here’s one way to copy one of her best summer makeup looks without going bankrupt!
Step One – Base: My number one rule for a flawless base is to always prime clean skin with a great primer in order to create the perfect canvas before applying foundation. Gosh Cosmetic’s do a great one as well as Loreal.
After allowing five minutes for the primer to seep into skin apply a liquid foundation that matches your skin tone. Try to ensure the foundation is long-lasting but not too matte so the skin still glows through. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation £5.99 is one of my favourites. It lasts up to 16 hours and really gives you that peaches and cream glow that Cheryl has.
I usually use my fingers but sometimes I use a kabuki brush to buff the foundation onto skin for a sheer finish which appears airbrushed, perfect to achieve that flawless natural skin look.
Step Two – Contouring: Learning how to contour the face is great because it makes the best of your features – it slim’s noses, contours cheekbones, high foreheads and long chins and can even slim your face!
Once your foundation has dried in apply a translucent sheer powder ONLY on the forehead, nose and chin to mattify shine. Next take a slim bronzer blush and apply bronzer a few shades darker than your skintone over the top of the forehead, down the sides of the nose and inside the hollows of the cheekbones to make your cheekbones stand out and perfect your features.
Lightly sweep over the shin and inside the eye sockets to give you a naturally sunkissed glow without making it look to fake. Ensure the bronzer is blended in enough so there is no streaks. Urban Decay Baked Bronzer £15 gives a lovely glow like Cheryl’s but Rimmel also has some really inexpensive ones that are just as good.
Step 3 – Highlighting: Combining a highlighter with bronzer will make your features stand out even more and will subtly highlight cheekbones and the cupids bow for fuller lips. Using a golden powder or liquid highlighter, smile and sweep over the tops of the apples of your cheeks right to the top of the ears and blend. Highlight down the centre of the bridge of the nose and slightly on the T zone and cupids bow.
Next apply a shimmery peach blush on the apples of the cheeks to liven the face up. Base perfected!
Step 4 – Lashes: For bambi eyes like Cheryl’s curl lashes and apply tons of volumising mascara to open up the eyes. Add false eyelashes for a really glamorous effect. I use Cheryl’s very own Eylure lashes to create a natural but wide-eyed look.
Step 5 – Eye Makeup: After applying the lashes and they have dried perfectly, use a liquid or preferably a gel eyeliner to line the top of the falsies so that there is an even line across the eyelid. Slightly flick the liner out at the outer edge of the eye for a feline almond eye like Cheryl’s.
Using a liner brush gently line on a bronzey gold eyeshadow under the lower lids and the inner corners of the eye. Cheryl always has a bronze shadow on to make her brown eyes pop.
Apply a subtle black eyeliner to the lower insides of the eyelids and blend with the bronze liner.
If there is any stray bits of shadow that have fallen on the face dip a cotton bud into makeup remover and gently sweep it off. Touch up the under eyes, bridge of the nose and the cupid’s bow with a brush concealer to get your skin gleaming.
Final Step – Lips: Line the lips first with either a nude or pink liner to prevent the hot pink lipstick from bleeding and draw just outside the lip shape if you have thin lips.
Cheryl has a gorgeous girly pink shade and one that looks the exact same is Mac Satin Lipstick in Pink Nouveau £12.50. Apply straight onto lips for brightness, blot, reapply and your good to go!
There you have it! Your very own Cheryl Cole inspired makeup look. To get her overall look add heated rollers to the hair, backcomb the roots and use Cheryl’s new limited edition Elnett hairspray to keep the hair together.
